The event is RDRC’s only fundraiser to support our youth programs and services that provide deserving but underserved youth with afterschool tutoring, employment, internships, mentorship, trips, college placement assistance and scholarships.

Many of the youth participants we serve are families who cannot afford to pay for the extra academic supports, travel related expenses to attend college fairs, college tours, museums or cultural centers of learning that help shape their educational and career pathways. This years’ event will be hosted by the dynamic, Emmy award winning QPTV host & producer, Roslyn “Roz” Nieves, so you know the event will be high energy!

Around Queens: Notes in Motion

Around Queens

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre's acclaimed 24-year-old dance education program, Notes in Motion, will partner with 23 schools in Brooklyn to bring inclusive dance education programs to underserved Pre-K-12 students. The programs are tailored to the specific needs and population of each school, guided by Notes in Motion's singular approach to arts education: the Movement Exchange Method, which combines technical dance instruction with creative skill building and collaborative learning. Notes in Motion fosters self-discovery, risk-taking, and leadership development — vital life skills that have faltered during the pandemic, which dance education nurtures by design. I would love to offer you interviews with Amanda Selwyn and her teaching artists about Notes in Motion's offerings, and its impact on school communities.
