Queens Conversations: The Magic of Giving
The Magic of Giving
This past year has certainly been a difficult and challenging one for the people in our borough of Queens. A crippling pandemic has left many of even the most resilient people in our community weakened, vulnerable, and in need of care. Anxiety, stress and illnesses have tested us, but also revealed our strengths and good will. It is said that bad times often bring out the best in people, and that is what we discovered happening across Queens as we prepared for this episode. So, in this program, we hope to highlight the compassionate efforts of some of the many Queens residents who have responded to this crisis and reached out a helping hand to their neighbors and friends. By choosing to make a difference, they have inspired us and we hope you will join us in thanking them for contributing to a better holiday season for those less fortunate. We will be speaking with: John Sing for the King-Toy Drive; Margaret Horning from the Astoria Mutual Aid Network; Macaela Sears, Founder of Astoria Food Pantry; Mars Scot from the Queens Liberation Project; and Daniel Puerto of the Love Wins Food Pantry.
As we complete our final show for this year, we would like to wish all our viewers the very best for this holiday season and to offer everyone our sincere hope for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
