Queens Conversations COVID - Kindness
Despite what we sometimes see in media coverage, disasters don’t always bring out the worst in people. In his book, Humankind, author Brad Aronson argues that the reverse is more often true. When a calamity strikes, he states, people in a community will reach out to help one another in inspiring ways. In this episode of Queens Conversations, we share true human generosity stories amid our nation’s tragic health crisis. Queens residents are performing simple acts of kindness that help transform their neighborhoods and themselves. Our conversation this episode will be with Leslie Ramos, Executive Director from the 82nd Street Partnership, Karla Beatriz García from the Jackson Heights Community Fridge project, and Annalisa Iadiciccoi of the Blue Bus Project. Also, activist Latifa Alaoui will discuss her many goodwill efforts.
