Queens Conversations: COVID and Our Community: Undocumented and Unprotected-Part 2

Queens Conversations

This episode of Queens Conversations explores the unfortunate effects of the CORONA virus on the quality of life in the Borough of Queens, with special attention to the neighborhoods of Elmhurst, Corona, and Jackson Heights. Council Member Daniel Dromm, (District 25) and State Senator Jessica Ramos (NY Senate District 13) will outline some of the issues created by this pandemic and the steps that local, State and Federal governments have taken to deal with them. In addition, Danielle Ellman, Chief Executive Officer of Common Point Queens, will review the struggles her organization faced as they attempted to continue their mission of serving community needs while protecting the health of a staff already reduced by funding cuts. Finally, Erick will tell us what happened to him when, undocumented and uninsured, he also became unemployed.
