Around Queens: Queens Taste 2023

The Party of the Year Is Back! Queens Taste Returns on May 16 after Three-Year Break Great Food, Beverages, and Networking at New York Hall of Science (April 3, 2023) Soup’s on! The Queens Economic Development Corporation, Queens Tourism Council, and Queens Together will host Queens Taste 2023 at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Tuesday, May 16, from 6 pm to 9 pm. QEDC organized Queens Taste every May from 2003 until 2019, but had to discontinue the feast for three years due to the government shutdown during the Covid pandemic. The 2023 return is expected to attract more than 500 attendees with at least 30 food-and-beverage purveyors that will offer samples of their products. Attendees will be able to bounce from table to table, tasting treats from tangy to fiery, crunchy to velvety, and sweet to briny. Registration is still open but attendees can expect Bangladeshi, Bhutanese, Caribbean, Central American, Colombian, Indonesian, Mexican, Quebecois, Southern, and Thai cuisine. Borough-based breweries, alcoholic beverage vendors, and juicers are expected, too, along with chocolate makers and artisan bakers. What else would you expect in the world’s most diverse county? Ottomanelli Burgers & Belgian Fries; Julia’s Kountry Kitchen; Hello Bangladesh; London Lennie’s; M. Wells; MadeFresh Organic; MumsKitchens NYC; Neir’s Tavern; Pa-Nash; QNSY Sparkling Cocktails; Rincon Salvadoreño; Schmidt’s Candy; SingleCut Beersmiths; Taste of Surabaya; Zaab Zaab Isaan Thai; and Zhego: Taste of Bhutan. Queens Taste 2023 is a celebration, but it’s also a great place to network. Almost all the anticipated 500 attendees either live in Queens or do business there. (Some do both.) Many are executives and captains of industry. Plus, the atmosphere is always festive, creating an ideal scene for meeting and greeting. Finally, Queens Taste 2023 supports a good cause. Proceeds go to QEDC’s ongoing efforts to attract, create, and maintain jobs in the borough. Tickets cost $125 each (two for $200), but as QEDC is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, they are partially tax deductible as permitted by law. qptv.org
