Queens Conversations: Create Change

Queens Conversations

We all know how critical this election will be and how our votes can bring about significant results for our country and our way of life. These changes, though necessary, can often be slow to evolve in response to large scale problems. In this week’s episode of Queens Conversations, we’ll talk with people who perceived serious problems existing on their local level but realized that these issues might not command the attention of elected officials who were dealing with other demanding priorities.
Our guests will discuss how they moved forward after confirming what they observed was real and urgent. Rather than wait for lengthy political responses, they decided to take direct, personal, and often immediate actions to help others in their communities. We'll hear their stories and ask the question, "What can you do to create change on an individual level?"

Our guests are:
Jonathan Forgash, Founder of Queens Together.
Maryam Shariat Mudrick Organizer, Astoria Mutual Aid Network.
Flame, Founder of Free Clothing Queens.
