QPTV is proud to announce it has received top honors from the 2015 Alliance for Community Media National Hometown Media Competition for QPTV Presents: Queensborough Performing Arts Center Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. The program won in the local performance category. Tune in as we re-cablecast this show. Double platinum Swing chart toppers, Cherry Poppin’ Daddies are celebrating and performing the music of the Rat Pack. Songs performed in their 1960’s era-inspired Vegas show include Come Fly With Me, Ain’t That A Kick In The Head, The Lady Is A Tramp, and many more; along with their own brand of contagious swing dance music from their CD Zoot Suit Riot. Part Sinatra, part Elvis, part Louis Prima, part Louis Armstrong, and part Michael Buble, the Daddies have appeared on The Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve, The View, and were the sole musical act featured in a tribute to Duke Ellington in an hour long special on the American Movie Classics channel. On stage, characterized by a rhythmic rock and roll influence, the band fills the room with excitement and knows how to keep their fans entertained!
