QPTV Presents Power Women of Queens - Episode 8
Patricia Glunt is the artistic director of the Jackson Heights Orchestra, founded in 2012. She has had the privilege of conducting and coaching a variety of ensembles throughout her professional playing and education careers. Along with teaching and conducting, Ms. Glunt has enjoyed a wonderful career as a violinist and has performed extensively in Northern California, Finland, and the metropolitan area. She is a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland and holds a Masters degree in Music Education from Queens College. During her 25 year career with the New York City Department of Education, Ms. Glunt served as supervisor for city-wide music programs, Assistant Principal at Long Island City High School, and Interim Acting Director of Music for New York City. After her retirement, she worked as an adjunct professor at Hunter College and New York University and continues to mentor new music teachers in New York City.
