Around Queens: Queens Teen Financial Literacy

Around Queens

In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, Projekt NYC is proud to partner with Futures Financials, a nationally recognized 100% teen-run nonprofit founded by Danny Jang, to launch a youth-led financial literacy initiative in Queens. We invite members of the press, student journalists, and local media outlets to cover this inspiring event where Queens teens will begin their journey toward becoming financial literacy educators and spread knowledge to the next generation. At the kickoff event, teens will receive education on money management from budgeting, investing, student loans and taxes and will be participating in hands-on training led by 10 youth educators from New Jersey on how to teach basic money management to middle schoolers. These teens from Futures Financials have already taught over 300+ middle school students this year and are on a mission to educate 1,000 by the end of 2025. They’ll share their curriculum, tools, and experience to help teens replicate their success locally. This event is open to any high school student interested in learning how to: Build leadership and public speaking skills Teach core money management concepts to younger students Start or lead community education programs Boost their resumes and college applications Following the kickoff, students will have the option to launch their own middle school workshops with full support from Projekt NYC and Futures Financials. Press presence at this event will help encourage the students and empower them to take this program further. "Financial literacy is an essential life skill that empowers young people to make informed decisions about their future," said Ted Psahos, Founder of Projekt NYC.
